Not a Ghost 03:24
You never existed, so you don't have a soul You don't have a soul, so you can't be a ghost You can't be a ghost, so you can't haunt my home You're just a figment of my imagination I set fire to all the photographs Watch it burn, watch it burn, watch it burn I disposed of all the evidence Watch it burn, watch it burn, watch it burn You were never here As I burn, burn, burned all last year You disappeared Into the thinnest air You never existed, so you don't have a soul You don't have a soul, so you can't be a ghost You can't be a ghost, so you can't haunt my home You're just a figment of my imagination I do not remember your name Watch it turn, watch it turn, watch it turn I do not recognize your face Watch it turn, watch it turn, watch it turn You were never here As I tossed and turned all last year You disappeared Into the thinnest air You never existed, so you don't have a soul You don't have a soul, so you can't be a ghost You can't be a ghost, so you can't haunt my home You're just a figment of my imagination

When I invented love I never meant for anyone to get hurt It seemed like a good idea After all it was only a word But this word is worth a thousand pictures And a million hearts One soul for every soul That seemed like the easy part I never thought it would come to this You didn't trust me when I said; "This is love…" Yeah! When I invented love I thought anything could go wrong Two hearts bound together Nothing could be so strong But hearts tend to fall apart When you start to over-think it You always play so cautious And fall into love's one weakness I never thought it would come to this You didn't trust me when I said; "This is love…" Yeah! Is it love? Is it love? Is it love? Is it love? Is it love? Is it love? Is it love? Is it love? Is it love? Is it love? Is it love? Is it love? Is it love? Is it love? Is it love? Is it love? When I invented love I never thought it would come to this

I'll fight you until I die I'll fight you until the day I die 'Cause we'll both be dead in the end Yeah, we'll all be just like all of my dead friends I'll fight you until I die I'll fight you until the day I die 'Cause we'll both be dead in the end Yeah, we'll all be just like all of my dead friends I'll love you until I lie I'll love you (Yeah, I'll love you) until the day I lie 'Cause we'll both be dead in the end Yeah, we'll all be just like all of my dead friends

about

In the winter of 2010, The Ridges took to the abandoned asylum that bears their same name to record a self-titled "studio" release among the ancient halls, deteriorating wards and eerie operating rooms. Following two informal live EP releases, the 5-track short-play album coping with themes of haunted pasts, death, love and awakenings, and backgrounded by the unique natural acoustics and legends of the building, is the band's first formal presentation of their richly layered sound.
